I got this mail forwarded from my friend, and this is really shocking.
I could find an email in my inbox from Income Tax Department of India – Tax Refund. I was just surprised to see this email asking for my bank accounts & Card details with ATM PIN.
For your Information, the intimation emails cannot be sent from any of government websites to any particular person. Later, I could find this email was Fake & the source of this email was from outside INDIA.
Please be careful before giving out any sensitive information, online.
This is where the link led me to…looks almost like the Income Tax website
This website asks for all sensitive information, and everything is mandatory
This is the actual Income Tax Website
Some tips to be safe when transacting online:
1. Have a complex non-generic password (don’t have your name as the password)
2. Keep your Primary email private
3. Check for the “Lock” symbol when transacting in Secure websites
4. If in doubt, check the Security certificate, and if you are still unsure, try the transaction offline!
